Who doesn’t love a fun girls night in?! It is so nice to just lounge around with your girlfriends, sipping on a cocktail, chatting and catching up on life.
Weeks are going by so fast with work, families, obligations, etc. that it’s nice to just stop & relax every now and then with your favorite people!
When hosting a girls night in, there are so many fun options!
A couple of my favorites ideas are:
Invite your friends over and rent the latest movie! Encourage them to come over in PJs or comfy workout clothes and order takeout and just hang out and enjoy the movie.
A fun night on the patio with music, wine & snacks
This is one of my favorite things to do! We remodeled our patio a couple years a go and we have gotten SO much use out of it. We have a fun little living room set, TV and string lights that really makes for a cozy little outdoor area. I love having friends over and turning on some music and just hanging out outside (when the weather is nice of course, we do live in Texas!)
This is fun for a girls night in or for a couples night! Game nights are so fun and what better way to end a stressful week with games, laughing & fun!
Have a current favorite TV show the same as your friends? Make it a weekly night in! Take turns hosting or cooking and get together to watch your favorite show! It’s so much more fun when you can talk to someone about a show you are watching and they actually know what you are talking about.
What to serve at a Girls Night In?
SNACKS! While going all out and cooking dinner is fun (I cook almost every night so I love it) it can be an added stress when you are trying to have a fun, relaxing girls night in. Some good, easy snack ideas are charcuterie boards, dips (hummus & spinach dip), veggie trays, fruit trays, a popcorn bar, a candy bar, there are so many fun ideas that you can pull together! Check out these great ideas I found on pinterest:
And my favorite summer cocktail…. Paleo-friendly Frosé! I made this a few weeks ago for a girls night in and it was delcious (and this is coming from someone who didn’t like Rosé when she first tired it and doesn’t like sweet wines!)
The recipe for the frosé comes form one of my favorite food bloggers, Lexi’s Clean Kitchen! I had been wanting to try it but every recipe I found was made with simple syrup and since I live a paleo lifestyle I wanted something that was made with a natural sweetener.
I stumbled upon this one and new it was going to be great!!
Recipe (from Lexi’s Clean Kitchen):
– 1/2 bottle of rosé
– 2 cups of ice
– 2 cups of frozen strawberries
– 1 lemon, juiced
– 1/4 cup of honey
- Place rose, ice, frozen strawberries, lemon, and 2 tablespoons honey or simple syrup in a blender. Blend until well combined. If you made simple syrup, place the extra sweetener in your fridge for later use.
- Pour into a baking dish, cover, and place in your freezer for at least 30 minutes, or until ready to serve.
- Taste and add more sweetener before serving depending on how sweet you want it!
